January 22, 1973 at Kingston, Jamaica
After winning his first 37 professional bouts, 34 by knockout, George Foreman received his chance at the heavyweight title when he met champion Joe Frazier. In devastating fashion, Foreman bounced Frazier to the canvas six times en route to a second round knockout.
March 26, 1974 at Caracas, Venezuela
In his second title defense, Foreman took on Ken Norton, the San Diego heavyweight. and promptly sent Nortonreeling in the second round.
October 30, 1974 at Kinsghasa, Africa
Billed as "The Rumble in the Jungle," Foreman was challenged by Muhammad Ali in Zaire, and lost his tilte.
January 24, 1976 at Las Vegas
Foreman took on Ron Lyle in one of the most exciting heavyweight bouts of all time. Both fighters were knocked to the canvas twice, but it was Foreman who survived with a fifth round kayo.
June 15, 1976 at Uniondale, New York
In a rematch of their title clash three years earlier, George Foreman and Joe Frazier hooked up and Foreman dropped "Smokin’ Joe" once more in round five.
March 17, 1977, at San Juan, Puerto Rico
Foreman lost a 12-round decision on points and afterwards underwent the religious experience that took him from the ring to the pulpit.
March 9, 1987 at Sacramento
After a 10-year absence from the ring, George Foreman began his comeback by facing journeyman Steve Zouski. Stalking his opponent throughout the contest, Foreman caught up to him in the fourth round.
April 19, 1991 at Atlantic City
Foreman finally got his chance to regain his heavyweight championship, facing undisputed king Evander Holyfield. After 12 hard-fought rounds, Holyfield’s hand was raised in victory. Though George lost by a point he proved a greater point "THE AGE 40 IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE FOR ATHLETES."
