Greatest Fighters Who Never Won a Title

#1 Jerry Quarry

Jerry Quarry is one of the best Heavyweights of all times. He out boxed Floyd Patterson out punched Earnie Shavers. He was flashy, good looking; but never became champion. Quarry boxed Jimmie Ellis and fought toe to toe Joe Frazier; on these occasions if he had only switched tactics he could have been Heavyweight Champion of the World. When I became Heavyweight Champion of the World I dodged him, purposely.

#2 Sam Langford

It was said that Jack Dempsey would not fight him and that Jack Johnson, when he was Champ of the World; wanted nothing to do with him.

#3 Hurricane Carter

Good puncher, good boxer, most feared in his time; but could not stay out of jail.

#4 Tony Galento

(Two Ton) Tony Galento, the Man that would be King, but never become Heavyweight Champ of the World... Oh, but he could punch! If we could only ask the Great Joe Louis, he would certainly tell us. "Oh, the man can punch."

#5 Hedgeman Lewis

Just like the old song... "I knew a man, Hedgeman Lewis, with fancy footwork and fast hands; this man can box. If only had not lived in Hollywood, driven a beautiful car, and had so many movies stars for friends; he would have been hungry enough to have been one of the longest reigning champions in the middle weights division. Hedgeman Lewis could box!"
